Just Startup | My New Book

At the age of 29, I have made millions of dollars in retail sales, and I have never had a “job”. Instead I have turned his passion into income. However, I have not always been a successful entrepreneur. Before I decided to dedicate my time to Startups, I was just a normal guy that followed his passion.

What interests me most about being an entrepreneur is the freedom it births. The freedom to be creative and get rewarded. I am not the first person to go question traditional employment and pursue his passion. Many people are just not sure if they are cut out to just start up their own business. After reading ‘Just Startup’ you will have a better understanding of the challenges ahead and whether you have the character and determination to succeed. You will be reassured that qualifications are irrelevant and read stories about how a normal guy succeeded against the odds.

The book is designed to serve as encouragement and inspiration, while at the same time providing practical advice. When I decided to write a book on startups, I approached it with the same innovative thinking that helped me start and build my brands. Instead of “teaching” the lessons I learned over the years, I creatively reveal the business side of things. There is no way to eliminate all the risks associated with starting a small business or any business at all. However, you can improve your chances of success with good planning and preparation. While you are being entertained with my story, you’ll learn how to:

  •  Get started
  • Find your market
  • Stay positive
  • Think creatively
  • Make money

Create Your Own E-Book

If you’re reading this text, chances are that you’ve already considered writing your own e-book. The great news is that self-publishing is now easier than ever and more and more people fulfill their dreams of being a published author with the help of e-books. However, to be successful, you need to know how to effectively create and present the content of your e-book.

As you know, first impressions do matter and this is especially true, when it comes to books. Your e-book title and cover will be the first two things your readers will notice, so take the time to make them right. A killer title is a must – it should be short and captivating enough to make your readers want to learn more, but without actually revealing too much of the content.

Make sure you also know how to format your e-book correctly. In print publishing, you’ll often have to include a title, copyright, and introduction pages, but this is not the case with e-books. Create a table of contents page, instead, so your readers can easily navigate through your e-book, when on their laptops, tablets or e-readers. Hyperlink the chapters, so that when users tap or click on the link, they’ll be taken straight to the page they want to read.

In fact, make sure you split your e-book into chapters or parts, as it will make it more readable and comprehensible. If you’re using images, ensure they’re high quality and clear any potential copyright issues (usually asking the author for permission and paying a small fee are enough).

The final format of your e-book is an essential part of the process, as it will determine its readability and accessibility. The safest route is usually exporting the file into a PDF format, which can be opened by most browsers. However, PDF texts are usually static, which means your readers will have to zoom a lot to get the best reading view. The best format for e-book is EPUB which actually reflows the text so it fits the screen size of any device. If you’re familiar with XHTML, you can convert your book’s content to EPUB format right away or alternatively, just use one of the many softwares available online.

Why E-Books Are Effective

Rapidly rising in popularity, e-books are becoming the most effective and reliable source of information for thousands of people around the world. Academic e-books are not a new concept within higher education organizations and more and more universities are offering their students course materials in digital format, rather than in traditional print one.

E-books are amongst the most effective tools for learning and not only because they’re widely accessible. Most e-books can be used on both iOS and Android devices, even if the student doesn’t have a specific e-reader or a Kindle device. In addition, e-books can be used immediately after being purchased, which means students don’t have to wait for them to be delivered. They’re also available in most online marketplaces, which cancels the need for going to the bookstore or queuing in the library. Since they’re portable, e-books also put an end to carrying around heavy print textbooks. Since e-books are generally cheaper, they can also save money for both students and educators and also take away a significant amount of pressure from most university libraries.

What’s more, interactive e-books can not only make learning easier, but actually enhance the process by helping students get a grasp of the course material. Promoting engagement is one of the major benefits of e-books, as they encourage people to engage in a more independent form of learning and can be utilized before, during or after the actual learning process. With today’s technology, students can easily read their e-books while on the bus, in class or in between lectures, or while travelling from one place to another. This is especially useful to people, who are looking to master a skill in their spare time – such as reading tutorial or how-to guides.
